The fourth Spider-Man film will be called “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” according to Sony Pictures. CinemaCon visitors learned from director Destin Daniel Cretton that this fourth installment’s production begins in the summer.
The upcoming superhero film got a boost when Tom Holland recorded a video message even though he could not make it to the annual Las Vegas convention for movie theater owners. “I wish I could be with all of you right now.” The actor has been currently working on a movie production in a different part of the world for his next film alongside Matt Damon, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway. The fourth film in the series is called “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and it offers a fresh start following the massive finale of ‘No Way Home’. I will say nothing more about it.
Holland maintained remarkable control over his words as he spoke since he often revealed Marvel Cinematic Universe secrets. That’s all they’ve permitted me to share,” he explained. The actor assured everyone by saying he no longer had the tendency to reveal plot details so there was no reason to be worried.
The fourth movie in the series started with Peter Parker making the difficult decision to remove his identity from everyone’s memory after shattering the multiverse unintentionally as seen in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. The story details for the fourth movie which will hit theaters on July 31, 2026, remain confidential. The creative team seems to be continuing their work on the story development.
The director has promised that he will spend his time discovering the future of this magnificent character alongside some of the best artists in the world. The team spends their days geeking out about the suit and web-slinging and developing an emotional journey and thrilling ride that has never been seen before.
The third part of the series will feature Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as Peter Parker’s friends MJ and Ned. Sadie Sink joined the project to play an undisclosed role while rumors indicate she may be taking over the role of X-Men mutant Jean Grey who was previously played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. It is still unclear which other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be featured in the film alongside Holland.
The creative team behind Brand New Day did not provide any information regarding the characters in the film. However, he did praise the creative minds bringing Spidey’s tale back to cinemas. Cretton stated, “There is no way I can introduce you to the entire team that is working day and night to bring this project to life.” They are fantastic and you will see their work when ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ comes to a theater near you.
Theater owners are very enthusiastic about Peter Parker’s return after the enormous box office success of Holland’s “Spider-Man” films. The first “Spider-Man” film titled “Spider-Man: Homecoming” generated $880 million in revenue followed by “Spider-Man: Far from Home” which grossed $1.13 billion and the post-pandemic hit “Spider-Man: No Way Home” grossed $1.9 billion worldwide.
Holland addressed the exhibitors by saying “I would never miss a chance” before expressing his gratitude to them for supporting the “Spider-Man” movies.
